Sewing for Beginners // a 4 Week Course with Designer Bethaney Woolley // Starts Tuesday, July 20th
In this 4 week course you will learn the basics of sewing and complete a design project to your measurements.
The course will run from 6-9pm each Tuesday evening for four weeks.
In this class you will learn:
How to take body measurements
How to thread your machine
How to sew different types of seams
How to troubleshoot machines and common problems
How to choose suitable fabrics for your garment choice
How to understand pattern annotations
How to measure and cut a pattern accurately
How to cut and lay fabric correctly
How to construct your garment from scratch
Insert facings and closures
How to insert a zip
How to hem and finish your garments
This course is designed for total beginners and you will learn all the basics of sewing, how to thread your machine and how to understand patterns. Our classes are taught in a classroom setting with one-to-one guidance ensuring everyone is receiving tailored instructions so that you can take your project at your own pace. Class size is strictly capped at 6 participants.
What will I need?
We will provide the skirt pattern, machines and tools for all participants however if you would like to use your own machine you are more than welcome to.
After week 1 you will need:

These classes will take place in our new building at 25-27 Bow Lane West, Dublin 8. The classroom is spacious with good ventilation, & all COVID safety protocols must be adhered to throughout the class.. Each participant must wear a mask throughout, and all work stations will be spaced apart. Each participant must sign a contact tracing form on arrival.
